Rayanna is from Elkhart, Kansas, a tiny town with under 1,000 people, where she grew up as the only mixed girl in her grade. She’s Indian, Caribbean, and Black American, though most people only ever saw her as Black. That experience, paired with a childhood centered around academics (her mom handed her a library card before she was even allowed to hang out with friends), shaped her into someone curious, grounded, and deeply self-aware. A fun and unexpected part of her story? She joined a cadaver team at just 17 and has had a genuine love for cadaver science ever since. Scrapbooking brings her peace, dancing is her favorite way to express herself, and if she had a theme song, it would be Meteor Shower by Cavetown.
