Nyayiem was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where living in one of the largest South Sudanese communities in the U.S. shaped her sense of identity, resilience, and belonging. Growing up in a tight-knit South Sudanese environment taught her the importance of culture, and community. She’s deeply passionate about serving the Omaha community, especially South Sudanese refugee families and youth. Having seen their challenges firsthand, she’s driven to create opportunities, preserve cultural connections, and ensure people feel supported and empowered.

Nyayiem loves ASMR and is currently working on visual AI ASMR videos as a creative project. Painting and drawing bring her joy and help her unwind, while her go-to form of expression is something simple but powerful: smiling. To her, a smile is a reminder that you can persevere through anything. If her personality had a theme song, it would be “Free Mind” by Tems.
